The L-39 "Albatross" produced by Czech Airlines Vodojodi is one of the most popular advanced trainer/attack aircraft in the world, with more than 2,800 L-39s in service with at least 30 air forces for no less than 40 years. "Albatross" made its first flight on November 4, 1969. The aircraft has a variety of modifications, of which the C type is the most important coach type used by each user.
About the Breitling Jet Team: The Breitling Jet Team is the largest non-military aerobatic team in the world. The team was established in 1982 by captain Jacques Portlin and was then known as the "Apache Show Team". The performance team changed sponsors in 2004, and the team name also changed to "Breitling Jets".
There are now 9 L-39Cs in service in the team, and we were delighted to see seven of them demonstrate their superb flight skills at the 9th China International Aviation and Aerospace Expo in November 2012.
The in-service aircraft numbers for the Breitling Jet fleet are as follows: ES-YLR/0, ES-YLX/1, ES-YLS/2, ES-YLI/3, ES-TLG/4, ES-TLF/5, ES-YLF /6, ES-YLP/7, ES-TLC/8, among which Nos. 0, 1, 3, 4, 5, 6, and 8 participated in the air show performance.
